Mornings are sacred to me: coffee in bed, plus a little reading (or, let’s be real, doomscrolling) before facing the pressures of the day. Despite the wellness world’s obsession with early-rising habits, I’m just not that person. The thought of chopping fruit, measuring ingredients, and fumbling with a blender to make a smoothie before my first sip of coffee? Not happening.
That’s why I never saw myself as a smoothie person, but when I spotted Walmart’s bettergoods smoothie mixes, I was intrigued. Could it really be that easy? For $2.97, I figured it was worth a shot. They’ve completely changed my morning routine.

Walmart’s bettergoods Smoothie Mixes
- Price: $2.97 to $3.12 for an 8-ounce bag (2 servings)
- Why I Love It: These mixes are a convenient and delicious way to get fruit and fiber into breakfast—without turning my kitchen into a disaster zone first thing in the morning.
Why I Love Walmart’s Bettergoods Smoothie Mixes
My mornings are usually fueled by whatever requires the least effort—toast with nut butter and banana, cottage cheese and fruit, or sometimes just coffee until lunchtime. These frozen smoothie mixes, priced between $2.97 and $3.12 depending on the flavor, have added a much-needed boost of variety (and fiber) to my routine without requiring extra effort. Each mix contains frozen cubes made from fruit and vegetable purées, plus whole ingredients like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and spinach.
As a self-described lazy cook, I love that I can just dump half the bag into the blender, add whatever plant-based milk is in my fridge, toss in a scoop of protein powder, and blend. No chopping, no measuring, no mess.
The directions recommend using water or juice, but since three of the four mixes are already fruit-based, I find them sweet enough. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll toss in a handful of baby spinach for extra greens—though bonus points to the Super Green + Spirulina mix, which already has spinach blended in.
How to Make These Smoothie Mixes More Filling
A few easy add-ins make these extra satisfying and are already in my pantry. A win-win in my book!
- Oats: A few tablespoons of rolled oats blend right in and add extra fiber and creaminess — perfect for keeping me full longer.
- Nut Butter: A spoonful of almond or peanut butter adds healthy fats, protein, and a little extra richness.
- Chia or Flax Seeds: Just a teaspoon or two for fiber and omega-3s, and they disappear right into the mix.
- Greek Yogurt or Kefir: Adds extra creaminess and protein for a more balanced breakfast.
