Just when I think my favorite house brand at ALDI can’t get any better, it does. ALDI has done it again: Mama Cozzi’s new Hand-Tied Garlic Knots are a total hit in my household.
What’s So Great About Mama Cozzi’s Hand-Tied Garlic Knots
Whenever we go to our local pizzeria, my son likes to order garlic knots—because an enormous pepperoni pizza that’s the size of half my dining room table is not enough. The garlic knots are delicious, yes, but they cost $1.50 for a single knot.
Mama Cozzi’s Hand-Tied Garlic Knots cost $2.69, and you get 6 knots, which is a full half of a pound. It’s an absolute steal compared to the prices at my local pizzeria, especially because my boy never eats just one knot—he always eats two or three. If I’m taking him and a couple of his buddies, it gets even more expensive because teenage boys can put away a lot of pizza and knots.
The price is nice, but the taste…If you like garlic, you’ll love these knots. Even before you bake them, they smell rich and garlicky.
How My Family and I Prepare and Enjoy Mama Cozzi’s Garlic Knots
The instructions on the package call for baking the knots at 425°F for four to five minutes. I put them in my air fryer at the same temperature, and they were perfectly browned after three minutes.
When they’re baking in the oven or an air fryer, the aromas in your kitchen make you feel like you’re in a pizza parlor. When they’re cooked to perfection, they’re slightly crisp on the outside, but pillowy on the inside, with a burst of garlic and butter goodness in every bite.
They are absolutely the perfect accompaniment to pasta—their fluffy, doughy, garlicky goodness is just made for sopping up extra sauce. Really, just think of them as a garlic bread substitute, whether it’s alongside lasagna or minestrone soup. The knots are also the absolute perfect thing to serve alongside pizza dip, which is a great dish to bring along to any game-day gathering.
I consider Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Pizzas to be filling enough by themselves, but my son informed me that he thinks the garlic knots pair well with their pizza. They also make a delicious, garlicky base for sandwiches. My husband, in fact, baked a couple of knots, then sliced and filled them with ALDI’s Park Street Deli Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad. They also would make a good base for mini chicken parmesan sammies or meatball sliders! No matter how you enjoy them, it’s hard to go wrong.
