Teriyaki Wonton and Cabbage Bake

Teriyaki Wonton and Cabbage Bake

I saw a version of this posted on Instagram and I knew I had to amp it up. Teriyaki Wonton Cabbage Bake is my version, and it’s so easy. All you need is bagged cabbage mix, frozen wontons, teriyaki sauce (I share my recipe for it) and bake for about 20 minutes. There you have it! This is my new favorite way to make an easy weeknight meal.

Easy Baked Wontons

I use frozen Trader Joe’s potstickers. They come in chicken and pork, I like chicken preferably. The wontons come pre-cooked, so they steam up really well. You can bake as many or as few in the dish as you like, just try not to overcrowd the pan. They will stick together.

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

I love a homemade teriyaki sauce versus a store bought one. If I am going to use a store-bought, Bachan’s is by far the best. They have a few different ones, but the Miso blend is my favorite!

Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients

  • Soy Sauce
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Honey
  • Garlic
  • Sesame Oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Water

Baked Vegetables with Wontons

I like to use a bag of cabbage for the vegetable element of this recipe. It bakes nicely, and makes a great pairing with the teriyaki sauce, almost turning it into a caramelized salad.

Of course whichever vegetables you want to use will work in a pinch! I recommend using fresh vegetables, frozen become soupy when baked. Broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots, and green beans or a combination of any of those would work great!

Place the frozen potstickers on top of the cabbage after adding the teriyaki sauce. Put some foil over the pan, and bake it for about 20 minutes!

Give the wonton bake a stir. The wontons will be tender, and the cabbage will be cooked! I topped mine with a little bit of chopped green onion. I served mine with a side of oven baked rice.
