A fun drink for every occasion, including a mocktail.
A little over a year ago, I started writing a cocktail series for Simply Recipes. Each recipe is three ingredients or less and uses affordable ingredients from everyone's favorite grocery store, Trader Joe's. I've been pleased to find out first-hand that there's no limit to the fun drinks you can mix up using TJ's products, whether they're low-ABV summer sippers, warming cold-weather tipples, or kid-friendly mocktails.
I've gathered them all up for your perusal; there's sure to be a cocktail for everyone in this list, whether you like tequila or bourbon, fruity or spicy drinks. The next time you stop at your local Trader Joe's, grab a couple of clever ingredients and mix up something fun.
2-Ingredient Red Tequila Cocktail
Two simple ingredients come together to make this ultra-refreshing drink, and one of them is only available at Trader Joe's. To The Power of Seven Red Organic Juice is a just-sweet-enough, just-tangy-enough mix of juices, making it an ideal mixer for tequila, a mild mezcal, or vodka.
3-Ingredient Spicy Margarita
Everyone loves a good margarita, but not everyone loves squeezing lime after lime after lime. Trader Joe's Organic Jalapeño Limeade tastes so much fresher than most store-bought sour mixes, and it has a little kick to boot. The limeade is seasonal, so it's only around in the summertime, but this recipe works great with their other lemonades and limeades, too.
3-Ingredient Spiced Apple Cocktail
This 3-ingredient cocktail combines some of my favorite TJ's products to make a drink that is perfectly balanced and warming, ideal for fall and winter. The combination of chai tea concentrate, sparkling apple cider, and bourbon is hard to beat. You can swap out the bourbon for rum for an equally good cocktail.
3-Ingredient Lemon Gin Refresher
For drinkers that like their cocktails light, fresh, and fruity, or for anyone who's in the mood for a refreshing cup, this lemon gin refresher hits the spot. The 5-minute drink combines Trader Joe's Limoncello with gin and lemon and ginger seltzer water for a real crowd-pleaser.
2-Ingredient Blood Orange Mimosa
Cocktails simply do not get simpler (or more delicious) than this. All you have to do is combine equal parts Trader Joe's Italian Blood Orange Soda and dry prosecco in a glass and you're done! It's a nice daytime option for brunch, Mother's Day, poolside hangouts, and showers.
3-Ingredient Trader Joe’s Holiday Punch
Trader Joe's Winter Wassail Punch is an excellent base for a wintry cocktail. The seasonal item can be served as-is for a fun mocktail or combined with vodka and sparkling wine for a festive adult punch. To make this drink party-worthy, add fun garnishes like whole cranberries, rosemary sprigs, and slices of citrus.
3-Ingredient St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail
When St. Patrick's Day rolls around and you want to make a festive green drink, put down the green food coloring. Powdered matcha adds a natural green hue to this cocktail along with depth of flavor. Irish whiskey (of course) and lemonade round things out.
2-Ingredient Cranberry Ginger Sparkler Mocktail
Whether you've got kids and other non-drinkers in attendance or are just looking for a NA option that doesn't disappoint, make this lightning-fast TJ's mocktail. I combine one of my favorite items, their Triple Ginger Brew (available during the winter months), unsweetened cranberry juice, and lime for a delicious drink everyone can enjoy.
3-Ingredient Sparkling Apple Margarita
Margaritas come in a variety of fruit flavors, like mango, coconut, and strawberry. But have you had an apple margarita? It's a delicious fall take on the classic. Combine sparkling apple juice, tequila, and lime for a lazy but tasty cocktail you can assemble in a flash.
3-Ingredient Strawberry Smash
Fresh strawberries, vodka, and rhubarb and strawberry soda come together to make summer in a glass. Smashing the strawberries gives the drink lots of flavor and makes it a lovely shade of pink, too. If you can't find the rhubarb and strawberry soda, which is seasonal, you can use Trader Joe's Sparkling Strawberry Juice instead.
