ShopRite Recalls Popular Soup Mix Due to Undeclared Allergen

Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. voluntarily recalled two lots of its popular Bowl & Basket Onion Soup Mix because of an undeclared egg allergen. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reported the recall on November 12 after the company received a customer complaint.

Bowl & Basket is a private label sold at ShopRite. The recalled products were distributed to a distribution center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and further to ShopRite stores. The recalled products are:

Bowl & Basket Onion Soup Mix
Size: 2-ounce cartons
Best-By Date: SEP 27 25 E07 and OCT 11 25 E09
UPC: 41190-08394

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eggs are one of the eight major allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the recalled product.

What To Do If You Have the Recalled Product at Home
